Atlanta, GA - Chin Chin II

My boyfriend and I were sitting on the couch, both very indecisive about what to eat for dinner.  Lil’ Azio’s again?  No.  Mexican again?  No.  Chinese?  Hmmm, that’s one we haven’t done before.  Because I don’t live in the city limits anymore, I left the choice up to him.  He chose Chin Chin II, a place he used to frequent often when he lived above it years ago.

take-out.jpgWe ordered take out.  He ordered the Lo Mein and I went with sushi, the Super Crunch and Philadelphia Rolls.  I must admit, I prejudged the place because of its location in a shady Kroger shopping center in between City Hall East and the Clermont Lounge. Once inside, it felt as though I stepped into another world.  And maybe that was the idea.  Nonetheless, while the red velvet benches around the tables through me off a bit, the overall atmosphere was neat and modern looking.

Since we didn’t eat in, I can’t really say how the staff performed, but my boyfriend said it is hit or miss. For this trip? Our interactions with the host were pleasant.  He was friendly, helpful, and promptly went to get my order.  We all know that food that has been ordered out and eaten at home is always a little different that when consumed in the restaurant.  But overall, this take out was decent.  We have both had better, and mine was sushi ordered in a Chinese restaurant. However, the food was tasty and fairly flavorful.

While I don’t think Chin Chin II will be our dine-in choice next time, carry out will remain an option.
