A Mac-and-Cheese Smackdown

smackdown.jpgPerfect for winter, the Smackdown Mac and Cheese cook-off will be held Thursday, February 19th from 7-10 p.m. at Goose Island Brewery in Chicago. This culinary event features six Chicago chefs and fifteen culinary amateurs competing for the “MACdaddy” title. The event benefits the Organic School Project, an initiative for better meals (healthy, homemade, local ingredients - maybe from their own school garden) in Chicago Public Schools.

Price of admission includes mac-and-cheese tasting, appetizers, desserts, beer, wine, and an exclusive MACtini cocktail created by Chicago’s infamous mixologist Adam Seger (from Nacional 27). I have been to other events with Mixologist Adam Seger and know that he makes some AMAZING drinks so the MACtini should be spectacular. Chicago favorite and Top Chef Winner Stephanie Izard will also be there and live entertainment, a silent auction and more entertainment is also promised.

Tickets cost $50 in advance and $75 at the door.  For more information visit www.ospsmackdown.com.
