Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro Packs Big Flavor
I was invited to a mini reunion with several former 5th grade students, all of whom are in college now. They chose to meet in Atlanta’s Atlantic Station at Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro, although I admit I didn’t care where we went. My excitement came with simply seeing how they were all making positive strides in becoming successful adults. I didn’t have any expectations about the restaurant, since I am not a fan of Copelands’ New Orleans, one of the restaurants Atlanta has from Al Copeland Investments.
The dining room was clean and sleek. The cheesecake display case was tempting. The service was decent, although not very diverse. I was a bit weary as I held the menu, as it is extensive - a tell tale sign to me that the restaurant has a kitchen full of Jack of all Trades, Master of None.
Our group ordered a variety of chicken dishes, from the Spicy Chinese Chicken to the Paneed Chicken over Crawfish Linguine. I had the Chicken with Artichoke and Mushroom. I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised. Just typing the name is making my mouth water. The enormous proportion of chicken and its accompaniments were generously laid over perfectly cooked linguine and covered with a lemon cream sauce that was to die for. You can’t imagine my sadness when I feel asleep on the couch, leaving my “doggy bag” on the kitchen counter. I guess that means I will have to go back, if not in Atlanta, to any one of the six other locations in 3 states – Virginia, Louisiana, and Georgia. And, I make sure I try the cheesecake.
