Food Find: Giant Chocolate Fountains!
My dear friend Alissa tied the knot recently! It was a fabulous ceremony that went on without a hitch. The reception had some tasty Polish food. However, I was too busy making a fool out of myself “dancing,” to eat the wedding cake. No matter, there was something better.
Now, I have a smallish chocolate fountain I got for Christmas several years ago. It’s a tabletop model with three tiers. But Alissa went bigger . . . much bigger. She procured a five-tier fountain that was the same size as me.
It was served with Twinkies, Oreos, marshmallows, bananas and the biggest strawberries I’ve ever seen. They were at least the size of a ping pong ball.
That got me thinking. There are far more occasions that call for a chocolate fountain than people get them for. Graduation? Housewarming? Christening? All good occasions for the chocolate fountain.
In case you’re in the Chicagoland area and looking for something unique to bring to your next potluck, here’s a listing of many Chicago chocolate fountain purveyors.

We did a potluck party for the office and I found all kinds of things that all of us could bring using www.theparty.net - It is a site that has a whole page of kinds of parties and then gives you a laundry list of all the things you’d need and then you can seach for then in a single search. Damn nice!
