Another "green" thing you can do with your doggie bag is to "replate" it, meaning to leave it somewhere were a hungry homeless person can easily pick it up and eat it:

I can't remember where I learned of this site, but we replated our lunch leftovers from Guero's in Austin yesterday. We were only a block from the restaurant when we found someone who needed them.</description>
