New Sports Bar Debuts in Washington DC — Just In Time For The Super Bowl

Last time I was in Washington DC, I was too young to check out the bar scene. Way too young. Coincidentally, I was looking at pictures from that trip last night and kicked myself for the umpteenth time for wearing my mother’s (too big) cocktail dress to a formal event. Eek. But I was just in high school (and didn’t have my own formal attire yet) . . .

Anyway, there’s a new sports bar in the U Street neighborhood. Momo’s Sports Bar (I wonder if that is Momo as in Momo racing gear? An ex was really into that stuff … carbon fiber this and chrome that and the such) is located in a converted townhouse (now that’s cool!), and has 18 flat-screen TVs, as well as two bars and a private VIP room.

Coincidentally, if you are looking for a DC bar to watch the Super Bowl at, this one has $2.50 domestic beers and $10 pitchers on Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights every week. Just sayin’. Maybe it’s just because I spent my bar going days in New York (and occasionally Connecticut), but that sounds really … um … inexpensive.
In case you want to check it out:
